So I've grown familiar with some of my own strengths and weaknesses.
For example, passive voice is my kryptonite - all my rough drafts are LOADED with it. Apparently, my writer self loves to sit and watch instead of get up and do things. Peaceful, but not terribly exciting for the reader.
Then there's the -ly words. I don't always have the heart to cut them all, but I try. I really do.
Then there's the weaknesses I truly, madly, deeply love - like alliteration.
I know it gets crazy sometimes, but there's something I just love about all those ringing, singing similar letters sounding together. I'm an alliteration addict.
Heard this song today, and it comforted me to know I'm not the only one...if I ever pick up the guitar again, I want to learn to play this one, and revel in the wordplay fireworks.
Got a side story from my novel Sanctuary, almost ready for public viewing. I might post it this week, so keep watch for it...
