Message to my Future Self

I'm writing another novel - a collaboration with a friend this time.

That's all I can say about the story - because thoughts are ethereal things, and if I tell them before they're written down, they stand a good chance of escaping.

Why am I collaborating on a novel, when there's still two more Sanctuary stories to go?

Because it's a good story, and because Crystal's continuing story needs more time to percolate. Lots more short stories to write around that one, before I'm ready to move on.

So, in the meantime, I'm keeping busy on another story, and enjoying myself immensely. Which is what fiction writing boils down to in the long run - if you don't enjoy the process and the system, why do it?

So this article, with tips on how to write a novel, is a reminder to my future self a year from now, that I chose this option.

And I'm gonna need all the help I can get....

There's No Place Like Blogger (sigh)

Hi dear readers -

It's been awhile since I posted a blog.

The reason being, there was this happy land of WordPress that I wanted to explore...

But, getting bogged down there, and after several frustrating restarts, I've come back, tapping my red ruby slippers and Blogger happily took me back.

Because, when it comes right down to it, I'm a writer, not a web developer.

I write stories. And I could happily spend the rest of my life doing just that.

So, here we go again.

I'm preparing another story to post here soon, and playing around with some other ideas.

Meanwhile, I wanted to share with you a video my oldest girl, an aspiring filmmaker, made - a trailer based on my first novel, Sanctuary.

Go ahead and like her channel while you're there - won't hurt my feelings. She'll do some really exciting projects someday - looking forward to seeing them myself.
